LP Planning were instructed to prepare and submit a comprehensive Planning and Listed Building application including a Design, Access and Heritage Statement in support of a proposed redevelopment and alterations to a Grade II listed farmhouse, including a large replacement extension and remedial works to the main house. The farmhouse dates back to the mid-18th century and sits within a walled garden surrounded by historic outbuildings, some of which have been converted into residential dwellings. The property is located within a village setting alongside several other listed buildings, and the entire area falls within a Conservation Area and the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
After reviewing the extensive planning history and site constraints, LP Planning worked closely with a specialist heritage consultant to produce a detailed statement demonstrating clear heritage benefits. The submission highlighted how the proposed work would secure the long-term preservation of the farmhouse as a historic asset, while the redevelopment of outbuildings would remain sympathetic, ancillary, and non-harmful to the character and significance of the listed buildings.
Given the prominence of the farmhouse and the scale of the renovation project, the client was keen for the application to be handled with care. LP Planning managed the planning and listed building application process throughout and were pleased to secure a positive decision, enabling the sensitive renovation and extension of this beautiful, listed building.
